[starter] Install OpenWISP
This task is one of our initial tasks for those who want to learn how contribute to OpenWISP!
OpenWISP is an open source network management system focused on low-cost networks that aims to make it easy to deploy and manage networks made with Open Source Software like Linux OpenWRT.
Read and follow the instructions that explain how to install OpenWISP using vagrant.
Please note down the challenges faced during installation.
Once the installation is completed, play around with OpenWISP, try to understand what's the purpose of this project (ask questions if necessary), then proceed with the following actions:
- create a configuration template and name it so that it contains your nickname here in the Google Code-In system, save it, open it again and take as screenshot of the page
- now create a device object, add the template you have just created in the previous step, add your nickname in the notes field and take two screenshots: one in which we can see the notes field and one in which we can see the enabled template on the device
- send us the screenshot here in the GCI system
Don't forget to start and fork the github repository linked in this task, this will help us for the reason described in our documentation page Help us to grow.
Next step: [start] Connect OpenWRT to OpenWISP.
