Steps

• Think of and write down the kind of information you want to get out of the interview e.g. how did they find their mentors? what aspects of their career did the mentors help with? etc.
• Once you have decided what you want to learn from them, write down interview questions that would best help you converse with them and gain those insights. At this point, you might want to read a bit about strategies for writing interview questions and conducting interviews
• Identify potential individuals within your local community whom you can reach out to for an interview and the mediums through which you could contact them e.g. email, phone etc
• Prepare 2-3 lines about what you want to ask them when you reach out to schedule an interview e.g. briefly talk about who you are, why you want to interview them, how long the interview would be and ask about their availability
• Reach out to them to schedule the interview e.g. email them, call them, message them etc
• Conduct the interview. Before starting the interview ask if they would be okay with recording else remember to take notes
• Use your notes or recording to write the blog
