PSLab Wave Generator: How does a wave sound? Document it Using Your Phone and Confirm Functionality

ABOUT

A function generator or wave generator is a piece of electronic test equipment or software used to generate different types of electrical waveforms over a wide range of frequencies. Some of the most common waveforms produced by the function generator are the sine wave , square wave, triangular wave and sawtooth shapes.

TASK

Your task is to find out how to use the wave generator of PSLab with your phone and create different sound frequencies in the analog and digital device part. Please record the exercise using the built in recording functionality. This exercise will help the team to see if the functionality works on different devices as expected.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Android phone with a) sound enabled and b) PSLab app installed and the Wave Generator instrument opened.

EXPECTED OUTCOME

  • A recording of the experiment in CSV format (use the save button on the top right)
  • Share information about the Android version and phone used
