This task involves designing a new logo for RTEMS. We would like to have two variations, one as a rectangle at least 300x400px (wider than long), and the other as a square at least 300x300. Logos must clearly portray the name RTEMS and be legible when scaled down to at least 64x64 pixels.

You can see other RTEMS logo for perspective but you should create something new and different. Familiarity with software like Gimp, Photoshop, Inkscape, or Illustrator will help. Gimp and Inkscape are open source and free. Online editors like Canva don't work if you cannot export a file to later load back in the editor. It may help to read 65 tips and 7 tips. Be creative and make it associated with RTEMS in some manner!

Ensure any fonts you use are freely available. Search the web for inspiration, but submit a completely original design of your own creation that does not use 3rd party images. If you create a design similar to something you found, it is a derivative work and you should give proper attribution (credit) by name with a link to the origin. Failure to give credit is plagiarism and can be grounds for dismissal from GCI. When in doubt, make something unique. ;)

Submit a preview of your design in PNG format, your original artwork files in the native format of the graphics design tool you used, and an image in vector format (e.g., SVG, EPS). If your editing program uses raster graphics, then provide a high resolution image at least 300 dpi of your logo instead of vector format.
