Learn how to install Freeradius (Basic Configuration)
Install Freeradius on your machine or in a virtual machine. Follow the step by step guide, after that try to authenticate the test user.
Installing the Server
The guide is for debian-like OS You can install the server via:
apt install freeradius
Test
Testing authentication is simple. Edit the users file :
/etc/freeradius/3.0/mods-config/files/authorize
and add the following line of text at the top of the file, before anything else, replace yourusername with your username or your name:
yourusername Cleartext-Password := "password"
restart service with:
service freeradius restart
and test the authentication:
radtest yourusername password 127.0.0.1 0 testing123
