[KDE Connect] Build and test KDE Connect Desktop client
KDE Connect is an open-source application which provides integration for your phone and your desktop, such as allowing you to use your phone as a wireless trackpad and presentation remote, or for replying to incoming text messages from your computer. Come and be a part of building a transparent and secure bridge to simplify your world!
KDE Connect has two components :
- Desktop application.
- Android application.
To complete this task, you will need to clone the KDE-Connect repository and build the desktop application. Then test the following :
- Remote Input
- File Transfer (Desktop to app and vice versa)
- Automatic connection after refreshing WiFi connection on Desktop
- Automatic connection after refreshing WiFi connection on Android Phone
For example :
Operating System ( & Distro) | Branch | Remote Input | File Transfer (Desk2App) | File Transfer (App2Desk) | Reconnect (Desktop disruption) | Reconnect (Phone disruption) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Linux - Ubuntu 16.04 | 1.3 | comments | comments | comments | comments | comments |
Also, let us know if you find any problems building or running the app (eg: you didn't find enough/up-to-date documentation on how to build, any errors you encountered and how you solved them, etc.) so we can improve the developer onboarding experience!
