BRL-CAD

Import and render any 3D model

Browse 3D models on Thingiverse or GrabCAD or NASA or wherever you can find them. Do some Google searches. Find one that is solid and 3D that you like. Import it into BRL-CAD. Render a nice picture of it using BRL-CAD tools. You'll probably need to have completed one of the beginner tasks or modeling tutorials to know what you're doing.

You might want to try rt -s2048 -c "set ambSamples=255 ambSlow=1" after you get a view set up nice and working.

SUBMIT a text report explaining what you tried, what worked, what did not work. SUBMIT a PNG image and your geometry in BRL-CAD .g file format (if successful).
