MovingBlocks
Introduce a friend to running the game from source and adding a simple new piece of content
As a prerequisite you should first do the task to set up a developer workspace for yourself. Then this task can be paired with another student performing the developer workstation setup with you guiding them and gathering notes on how well they did and if the setup instructions could be improved.
Note that ideally your friend should actually be able to use the help - no fair if you try to "help" an IT professional set up to run from source! ;-)
Definition of 'Done'
- Student should provide a small report of how their friend managed to set up to run from source and which problems were encountered, if any, with improvements to the documentation suggested (use a GitHub Gist or a forum thread)
- Provide a screen from your friend's computer showing the game running from source at the same time some chat from you is visible (like a running chat log from IRC or some instant messenger)
- Bonus: Have either/both of you provide a minimal new game asset in a PR as well
Where to start
- See The setup guide for instructions - although you should have already gone through those!
- See the tutorial asset wiki for basic asset work (other tasks also available there)
