Write Code, Save Lives

OpenMRS is a collaborative open source project to develop software to support the delivery of health care in developing countries. We are a worldwide network of volunteers from many different backgrounds including technology, health care, and international development. Our mission is to improve health care delivery in resource-constrained environments by coordinating a global community to create and support this software.

The OpenMRS software platform and a reference application enables design of a customized medical records system with no programming knowledge. It is a common platform upon which medical informatics efforts in developing countries can be built.

Working on Google Code-in tasks for OpenMRS is a great way to join the free and open source software movement, and at the same time use your talents to help people in developing countries and around the world on the front lines of the battle against HIV/AIDS, TB, Malaria, and other public health challenges.
