Slack is our go-to communication tool. During the last GCi edition we implemented a self invite system (https://www.ccextractor.org/doku.php?id=public:general:support) so that anyone can invite themselves to the Slack group. We hope you're already active on it by now (Psst! If you haven't, join it right now to avoid missing anything 🙂 ).

However, as there are sometime silent times on the channel (not all contributors are online at all times...), so we'd like to have a simple Slackbot that sends a direct message to the newcomers who join our slack group.

Your task is to create this bot. Don't worry about the message content, we'll worry about that once you have a working bot.

There should be enough sample implementations available online to get you started.

What do we expect? An implementation from you that we can easily use ourselves to run the bot. It should be well documented.
