Make timing perfect

This task is for those with crazy attention details: The timing in some of our files seems a bit wrong. By a mean we mean milliseconds. Seems nothing but when playing the files with subtitles it's a bit noticeable and if you watch a full movie it goes from noticeable to irritating. We know however that some players, such as VLC, play the subtitles OK. So the problem seems to be on our side. The job is play the video file with VLC, frame by frame if needed, and figure out when (bonus points for why) we display the subtitles before or after they have to be displayed.
