We have a nice sample in the video-samples repository from a Chinese station that comes with DVB subtitles in Chinese.

Results doesn't seem to be too good (but the developers that looked into this don't speak or read Chinese, so we could be wrong). We need a Chinese person that can actually check this out, comment and in general help figure this out.
