Catrobat

Find voting systems for new features for our users

Catrobat has no easy way to ask users what features they are interested in. You task is to find, try out, review, and describe a minimum of three (in your opinion most suitable, but more are fine) existing voting web services (or polling system of similar purpose) that could be used to gather opinions about feature preferences by Catrobat. Write it all up, and also explain the pro & cons of each system, in a shared Google doc (allowing comments for anyone with the link) in English. The document should be well structured, with links to the systems including credentials of test accounts that you created, as well as screenshots, and should address all the criteria that you believe would be useful for Catrobat. Include how the system can be used in a long term way, i.e., not just for the next release, but for several releases, where after some time some of the features will already have been accepted and possibly implemented in previous. What about proposals of new features that come up while the system is already running? What about the costs? What about comments by users? What about notifications of interested users? What about abuse (e.g., spoofed voting)? Also address what problems (e.g., bias) could arise by the use of such a system. Since we plan to use XWiki, are there extensions of xwiki that could be used? Also look what other FOSS projects are using for this purpose, and report about it. Include any other meaningful criteria you can come up and explain why they matter.
