Show floor info in Marble Maps on Android
Welcome to Marble, a virtual globe and world atlas that runs on Linux, Windows, MacOS and Android. Find your way and explore the world! :-)
- Prerequisite for this task: Please do the task "Setup a Marble dev environment for Android"
Marble Maps on Android provides information about places when tapping on them. They show up in a dialog at the bottom. Marble Maps can show the address of places but the floor level is currently not shown:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:level
Example: Start Marble on Android. Enter "ok marble" into the search field and press Enter. In the dialog at the bottom check "OSM Tags". Then search for "Berlin Hauptbahnhof". Click through various shop icons and look for e.g. "level=1" in the dialog at the bottom. This task is about adding this information: The floor level should be mentioned one line below the address in common language - so e.g. in English: "first basement floor" (German: "1. Untergeschoss") instead of level: -1. There is a catch: Read
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Storey
to know the differences across languages. Find the best solution to display the floor level information.
