KDE
Improve KStars - Create new color schemes
KStars is a high quality planetarium program and at the same time a very powerful astronomy tool provided by the KDE Community. It is a free open-source software able to provide an accurate graphical representation of the night sky, from any location on Earth, at any date and time. The display includes up to 100 million stars with additional add-ons, 13000+ deep sky objects, constellations, star clusters, nebulae, galaxies, all planets, the Sun and Moon, and thousands of comets and asteroids. By default, KStars comes with a set of color schemes including a very cool Night Vision color scheme. Even so, each user can create a new and unique color scheme, in a simple and intuitive way, by using the Colors menu:
- First go to "Settings" tab.
- Then select "Configure KStars...".
- Then use "Colors" tab to create your own color scheme. There you can customize the colors used by KStars for each sky object. If the final color scheme will be cool enough, be sure that we will include it in KStars predefined color schemes!
