Setup a Marble dev environment on Windows
Welcome to Marble, a virtual globe and world atlas that runs on Linux, Windows, MacOS and Android. Find your way and explore the world! :-)
To complete this task you have to compile the Marble source code on a Windows machine, install it and run bin/marble-qt. Please
- Upload a screenshot of the application with the About dialog opened to show that you completed all steps.
- Take some notes of problems you ran into. Where was our documentation too short, outdated or even wrong? Attach the notes to the task or post them un a separate comment.

- Make sure you have a Windows system running.
- Install development packages: Visual Studio Community Edition (or mingw), Git, CMake, Qt
- Follow marble.kde.org to compile and install the development version of Marble
- Run bin/marble-qt, open the About dialog and make a screenshot. The screenshot must show that you are running the development version (master branch)! Upload the screenshot as proof that you completed all steps.
We are interested in providing good setup instructions. If you are running into problems that you cannot solve on your own, please contact your mentors:
