Website: Create a personal portfolio site using GitHub Pages and open source web standards and technologies
OBJECTIVE
Create a personal portfolio website using open source technologies.
The goal of this task is to enable students to work on web projects on GitHub and showcase their understanding of web standards and technologies.
REQUIREMENTS
- Find online resources on HTML and CSS and learn about web standards and how to use web technologies
- Create a website hosted on GitHub Pages
- Include a photo of yourself and at least the following three sections on your site:
- About (tell us about yourself e.g. name, age, school e.g. school(s) you are attending, country, etc.)
- Interests (tell us about your hobbies and why you enjoy doing them)
- Projects (tell us at least one interesting project you are working on e.g. Google Code-in and the open source organization involved e.g. FOSSASIA). Note: Do NOT post any personal information such as your home address and contact number.
- Your website should be using HTML and CSS. Each section should contain one or more hyperlinks (e.g. to your school website, FOSSASIA http://fossasia.org, Google Code-in https://developers.google.com/open-source/gci/ , etc.)
- Optional: Star FOSSASIA projects on GitHub that you like
- Optional: Tweet about your task on Twitter or any social media eg "Set up my own website {http://yourlinkhere} with @FOSSASIA @hpdang @mariobehling during #GCI http://fossasia.org"
EXPECTED OUTCOME
- Posted a link to your site in the comments here
- Optional: Starred repositories your are interested in and post on social media post about task
