Salesforce Clean-up: Add Country and Region Dropdown fields for all Accounts from 10/1/2014 onwards
We use Salesforce for managing our database of customers, partners, and volunteers and all communications and contact history with them.
This task involves cleaning up the Accounts within Salesforce to ensure they're ready to be imported in Mailchimp. Sometimes when we automatically convert leads to accounts from our web forms on our website, all the necessary values for segmentation don't get added.
For each contact, we must ensure it has a value for (and if it doesn't, add it):
- Country Dropdown (look in the mailing country field or the country value for the parent account)
- Region Dropdown (deduce this based on the country field - refer to other records for reference)
How to work on this task:
- Claim the task
- Email edcable@mifos.org to request credentials to access our Salesforce instance.
- Run the report titled: Business Accounts Cleanup for GCI with the date range of 10/1/2014 to blank (leave space blank for present date) for Created Date
- Make sure filter for Accounts with Affiliated Contacts is enabled.
- For all the values that don't have the above fields completed, click the name of the account, edit the values and save each record.
Task isn't complete until all the accounts. in the date range are complete with the above fields.
If you plow through this task too rapidly, please while you're editing the accounts make sure they have proper capitalization, etc
