Improve BookBrainz's achievement badge graphic design
- Aim: design a new badge template to replace the existing programmer art used for BookBrainz achievement badges
- Estimated Time: 3 hours
At BookBrainz, we have an achievement system which rewards editors for reaching various milestones, which aims to encourage participation in the project. However, the artwork we're currently using for our badges is programmer art, and needs improvement to look polished and to match the look of the rest of the site.
The current badge designs can be found at on the MetaBrainz blog, with the original files in the BookBrainz GitHub repository.
We'd like you to create a single image containing a brand new design that can then be used as a template to create other badges. We like the hexagonal shape of the current badges, so please stick to this format unless you have an amazing alternative idea!
Please be prepared to iterate on your design - you should spend maybe 30 minutes coming up with an initial concept, and hour making it look good in your favorite image editor. You're encouraged to post your initial work up on the task for mentors to provide feedback, and to leave an hour an a half of time to tweak it and make improvements.
