The Clock activity (sugar-clock) uses Gstreamer to do text to speech. We have a text-to-speech engine in the Sugar toolkit (https://github.com/sugarlabs/sugar-toolkit-gtk3/blob/master/src/sugar3/speech.py) so we can remove the Gstreamer dependency by using the toolkit.
