Research email integration with python/django [VMS]

Prerequisites:

Research skills and ability to consult solutions.
To understand the task better, install VMS.

Simple Definition:

VMS would like to have email integration for account confirmation/validation and for sending notifications to volunteers when their hours are entered.

Steps to Take:

Browse through existing implementations of email integration. You can have a look at possible libraries/ packages. Keep in mind that these should be compatible with the project technology stack -(Python/Django)
Based on your research, write a blog post on possible ways to add this functionality
