Run a Usability Test [FirstAide]
Prerequisite:
- ONE of the FirstAide Apps running on your machine. (iOS, Android, or Web)
Simple Definition:
- Usability testing is a technique used to evaluate a product by testing it on users. It gives direct input on how real users use the system.
Steps:
- Research usability tests. Pay attention to "Best Practices" and "Example Usability Test Session."
- Record the user from start to finish.
- Place the device in front of a test user.
- Ask the user to complete 2 of the following tasks:
- "Set up your circle of trust."
- "Send a message to your Circle of Trust."
- "Look for the procedure to take after being sexually assaulted."
- "Find your closest Peace Corps point of contact."
- Write down notes. (Optional. You may need both hands to record.)
Keep in Mind:
Do not lead the user! Remain neutral! You are there to listen and watch. Videos that do not follow directions and lead users will not be accepted.
