Before you can start contributing code to Drupal, you need to install Drupal locally. You can choose to install Drupal on your favorite OS and using any way you prefer. You can find installation instructions @ https://www.drupal.org/documentation/install. Document all the steps you follow and report any issues that you faced while trying to install it.
