Participants will create a new design for the BookBrainz home page and provide mockups (no need for HTML/CSS, unless you prefer this). The current BookBrainz branding (logo and text) should be retained, but everything else is fair game. The best design is one which can juggle competing demands. Criteria to keep in mind:

• BookBrainz branding should be displayed prominently; the user should know they're at BookBrainz right away
• Make efficient use of space; ideally, the user will be able to get a basic sense of the project's purpose and have a clear picture of how they can interact with the site (i.e., log in, find data they want, or contribute their own data) from the first screen
• The user should be presented with some indicator that the project is alive; an ideal design will find a way to show recent activity
