Ubuntu

Documentation Updates

The Ubuntu wiki has a lot of outdated documentation. This task is to identify pages which are no longer relevant and remove or clean up the content. This helps users have current and updated information regarding the varying Ubuntu versions.

To combat out of date documentation, we have provided a basic list of documentation to review, and then update as needed.

Help pages are found here.

To work on this task:

  1. Open the link above.
  2. Click on a help page link.
  3. Review the material in the help page.
  4. Update the help page if needed.
  5. Mark your progress in the spreadsheet.
  6. To submit work done, just add a short explanation of what you changed, and then a mentor will review it.

You are welcome to work on either one or many wiki pages as you would like, I would generally expect roughly an hour total to be spent on this task for each individual.

It is okay if not all the documentation gets updated. :) You are free to work on whatever link you would like to work on, there is no assigned order or order they need to be done in.

If there are questions, or you are not sure, please make sure to reach out to any of the mentors listed!

How to edit an Ubuntu wiki page is found here.

You have the opportunity to learn a lot about Ubuntu as an operating system with this task, it's great for beginners to Linux or masters that want to contribute!
