Ubuntu

Test the WordPress theme for Ubuntu community teams

In this task, you will need to set up a WordPress theme from Git and give feedback about it, including filing bugs and feature requests where appropriate. The theme is work in progress, but it is planned to be released for all Ubuntu community teams and members to use.

The theme is located in a Git repository at:
https://github.com/knomepasi/ubuntu-community-wordpress-theme/

After you have pulled the theme from Git and installed it in WordPress, play around with it and its features; try to customize the theme by the Customizer options available, add articles and pages, create menus and submenus and add widgets to the widget areas. You can even try adding non-default widgets from plugins. The theme has some support for responsive design, and you can give feedback on that as well.

Once you have done the above, give feedback about the theme in the task comments. Mockups for improvement suggestions are welcome. For bugs and feature requests, you can also file issues against the Github repository. Additionally, if you are in touch with a team that is interested in using the theme, you can pass on their comments about the theme as well.

There isn't a specific ending condition for the task, but something else than "it works" or "it doesn't work" is expected to be approved.

Any questions regarding the task and discussion about the theme are welcome on the IRC channel #ubuntu-google, where I go by the nick "knome".
